All businesses must prepare accounts. Companies need to file them with Companies House and HM Revenue & Customs. For smaller businesses, they form the starting point for a tax return.

What is the problem with this approach? It’s quite simple really, accounts focus on the past!

Accounts may be a necessary evil, but we make the most of this compliance task. We sit down with our clients and help them to understand how they have performed, how they compare to other businesses and what they could do better.

Many accountants focus solely on this compliance task. All too often we hear that accountants turn up once a year and then you never hear from them again. Not us!

Annual accounts are almost a by-product of the relationship we have with a client throughout the year. We keep in regular contact and are on hand all the time to provide advice, deal with queries, assist with accounting software and most importantly, provide up to date management accounts throughout the year to enable our clients to make important decisions in a timely manner.

Of course, not everyone needs this level of input which is why we offer varying levels of support for businesses with income starting from a few thousand pounds up to an annual turnover of £10 million.
